J.D. Northrup Construction (JDN) is performing underground utility construction work for the Village and its utility department, Bath Electric, Gas and Water Systems, (Village / BEGWS). As part of this Work, JDN and its subcontractor, Willey Well Drilling (WWD), will be replacing the water main, and water service lines requiring replacement, on Allen Street. JDN and WWD crews will be driving marked vehicles and carrying identification indicating they are employees of their respective companies and contractors for the Village / BEGWS.
In support of this important work, there will be a temporary interruption in water service for customers on Allen Street. This
interruption is scheduled for Thursday, June
11, 2026, from 9:00am to 11:00am. Flyers to impacted customers will be distributed.
During this time, we ask you avoid running water from your plumbing fixtures. There may be a slight discoloration in your water when water service is restored. We ask that you run cold water from an outside hose bib until your water has cleared. If an outside hose bib is unavailable, we encourage you to run cold water from a plumbing fixture at the lowest possible level. Be sure any screens or aerators are removed from your plumbing fixtures. After ensuring your water is clear after running fully for approximately 15 minute, it is recommended running cold water through all fixtures, then appliances, to ensure all lines and appliances have been flushed.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve the safety and reliability of our utility infrastructure.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions and/or require further assistance (607-776-2173, Option 3).
Thank you!
