Today, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, we were informed that a BEGWS customer received a call from an unrestricted number. The caller stated they were his utility provider for two specific properties owned by the BEGWS customer. The caller went onto state this his utility provider had been purchased by a neighboring utility company, that he was behind on his utility bill, and that he was required to provide his credit card information over the phone to pay his outstanding balance and make his account current.
THIS IS SCAM.
WE DO NOT ASK CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE.
